Your Coaching Website is NOT Optional

Posted by: | Comments (0)

It’s time for the April Easy Biz Teleseminar call and I want you to be on this call if you are a coach without either a website or a blog!

While you don’t have to have a website to be an outstanding coach, you do need to have a web presence to be viewed as credible in the 21st century. Just like a “brochure” was a requirement for business owners in earlier decades, having a website is considered a “basic” of being in business today.

Yes, the Easy Biz subject this month is EASILY getting up your website or blog and using it to make growing your business easier…

The April Easy Biz expert is Nina East who is one of the foremost experts on WordPress in the coaching world. Nina has been coaching for 12 years and has mentored and coaches thousands of other coaches in business development. But even more important, Nina is also an accomplished web designer who has seen too many coaches stall on this vital piece of online marketing.

Given how easy it is to have a powerful – and secure – website these days, there’s virtually no excuse for not doing so. As a coach, a blog is also an important part of your “online presence strategy.” Coaches, unlike many other professionals, are actually positioned naturally to be bloggers. You’ll want to learn all you can from Nina as she shares her ideas on EASILY getting your website or blog done and working for you.

Here are the details:

Date: April 5, 2012
Time: 1-2 pm ET (10am pacific, 11 mountain, 12 central)
Registration: http://easybiztelesummit.com

Nina wants all coaches to know that all you need is a self-hosted WordPress site, a few simple strategies, and a willingness to share your voice to have a powerful, noticeable and word-of-mouth-worthy presence online. And she should know – she has co-authored the soon-to-be-released This Business of WordPress, a book about the critical factors, pitfalls, and joys involved in building a business around the use of WordPress.

If you haven’t heard about the monthly Easy Biz Teleseminars, they are dedicated to giving you concrete ways to make the running of your coaching business easier. Join us live for the call because we always save time for questions or listen to the recording any time for one full week after the call.

If your website and/or blog are not yet the cornerstone of your online marketing, please make sure to listen to Nina. If you register for the call, you will automatically get access to the call recording.

Hope to see you there!

Warmly,
Janet

PS – This call is a “must attend” for new coaches and for those who aren’t satisfied with their online presence. Mark your calendar for the call and join me as I interview Nina on exactly what it takes to make websites and blogs EASY. Here’s the registration link again:

Have you thought about using an ezine to market your business? If not, consider using an online magazine to gain interest and traffic. Here are a few tips to use as you craft your magazine.

People love to read magazines. They provide articles, ads and photos to view. You can use one as a way to market your business.

With magazines also come subscribers. It is one step closer to getting people to try your products and invest in your business. Here are some ways you can use your ezine to leverage your business position.

Offer a free subscription – Just for signing up and giving their name and email address, you can offer free subscriptions to your online magazine.

Write articles about your products – You can write articles related to your niche market, helpful ones that offer timely and expert advice to your reading audience. But, don’t forget to write pieces about your business products. Let people know that you are an expert and then tell them about what you do.

Create a readers section – This is where readers can have their questions featured and answered by you. Include an email address where they can send them.

Offer advertising for free or at a discount – This is one way to pay for your magazine efforts. Offer a free month of advertising in exchange for subscription. Also include the price for advertisements depending on where on the page their ad is located.

Have guest writers – Ask readers and colleagues to write articles. If their submission is accepted, then they can get a discount on their total product order on your site. And, you can give them a byline.

Use directories – Ezine directories such as ezine-dir.com allow you to create a page to promote your magazine. Include links to your advertising page, your magazine site and your website. Even create a page that gives them a sample of the online magazine to read.

Hold contests – Everyone loves contests. The prize could be a free item from your store (within a certain price). Second and third prizes could be discounts upon purchasing. Feature the names of the contest winners in the next edition after the contest ends.

Send out mailings to your email list – To those that have opted in for contacts on your website, send them an email autoresponder with a link to where they can subscribe to your online magazine. You can advertise a free report as incentive to sign up.

Promote it on social networks – Do you have a Facebook business page? Talk about your ezine there. Even create a magazine page where subscribers can give feedback on your work.

Ezines can be used to promote your business by providing vital information about your business to current and prospective customers.

If you’re ready to ramp up your marketing efforts, then you need my weekly Biz Tips ezine. By subscribing now, as a bonus you can have a copy of my ebook Biz Tips: The Book – Entrepreneur Edition absolutely free, filled with business and marketing tips designed to help you where you are right now. Just about everyone uses social media networks these days. It’s a way to keep up with friends old and new. But, did you know how important it is for the business side of things?

Social Media Hype

What is it about social media that is so appealing? For one, in the age of technology, it is a way for people to keep up when their schedules are too busy for actual face-to-face meetings. People can stay social and share with others over the cyber waves even if they don’t get out much.

Friends and family can stay in touch over the long miles with social sites. You can also meet and make new acquaintances through the personal information that you provide on your profile. Facebook can make suggestions for you of people you might know.

What Does It Mean for Your Business?

If you own a business, whether brick and mortar or online, you can benefit from your association with Facebook. Most of us use Facebook for personal reasons. We chat, share photos and other things. But it can be turned to profit your business.

One way is by creating a business page on Facebook. You can link to this page from your website. Use your social media page to offer special coupons or offers to those who visit and see what you are talking about there.

As your page is an extension of your business, use it as a way to hone in on what your customers are thinking. Do your due diligence as well. Respond to questions and comments asked there. Offer surveys and polls for those who “like” your page.

Highlight what is going on at your business and upcoming features. Target your updates to those who are in your niche market. And, keep them brief and timely so no one is inundated with a lot of posts to their wall.

If you are just beginning a Facebook business page, invite your friends and family members you are already “friends” with to visit and “like” your page. This can get the ball rolling. They can suggest your page to their list of friends as well.

Another suggestion is to hold contests on your business page. Mention them on your website, but only offer entry to those who check in on the Facebook page.

Did you know that Facebook pages appear in search results on major search engines? With that thought in mind, don’t forget to optimize that page just like you have done with your website. Post snippets of your content here with links back to your website for those who find you through the social site first.

Facebook fans are important to your business because there are so many of them. And, through their clicks, you can find more targeted traffic for your website.

Affiliate 2.0 Partnerships

Are you ready to own your niche, create a bigger impact, and make more money?

It can be easier (and more rewarding) then you think!!

In a sea of online marketers teaching clients how to turn their passions into a profitable business (or insert special niche here) it can be difficult to distinguish yourself amongst the crowds. In the past, it seemed that a beautifully designed website would indicate a certain level of professionalism, however with low investment platforms like Kajabi or Optimize Press and outsource support from overseas, it seems that anyone can “look” good and claim their expert status, making it harder for the consumer to really know who’s who in business.

This is where the right affiliate partnerships and joint ventures can really support YOU in achieving the right visibility and positioning in order to grow your business. Credible testimonials and referral marketing strategies allow you to stand out, position yourself and your mastery, and own your industry authority position.

It’s much more then just a gold star on the wall of fame however. Referral based marketing generates at least an increase of 30% ROI over non-referral marketing strategies which you can put directly into the bank.

According to world-renowned sales trainer, Tom Hopkins, in “Sales Prospecting for Dummies”; your closing ratio for non-qualified leads is 10 percent versus a 60 percent close ratio with referred leads which means better sales conversions!

Plus referral marketing reduces your sales expenses and turnover rate. With less time calling cold prospects, you can focus on providing customers incredible value which means less refunds, a long term relationship with reoccurring sales, and greater referrals.

With more time freed up, you focus on building greater partnerships influence that leverage your time and allow you to connect with thousands of potential clients and fill your programs with much more ease overnight. Not to mention spend more time with your friends and family or taking that vacation you’ve been waiting for!!

If you are in the beginning phases of your business with little start up capital, this strategy not only increases your sales conversions, but also costs less money up front! Having the right structure in place that allows you to incentive your partners on the back end is the perfect solution for the entrepreneur who is just beginning to generate sales. Just make sure that you have the other pieces of your marketing and sales funnel dialed in so that your partners may benefit from their efforts and investment in promoting you. You’ll want to know certain key conversions before you begin approaching new partners to guarantee best results.

Of course all the numbers sound good, but in the new paradigm of heart centered business, I am also committed to your partnerships and business FEELING good.

One of the best reasons for being in business for yourself is that you get to decide who you work with and who you don’t. Having an affiliate structure in place that clearly defines your core values, your ideal tribe, and your terms and agreements will help attract the right partnerships to you so you can experience greater fulfillment and less stress and struggle in growing your business.

Partnership allows you to stay in your zone of genius, creativity, and power center, while supporting your clients at higher level by connecting them to partners who excel in other areas of expertise. It’s a WIN WIN WIN!

Just as important to me is that a large percentage of my partners have also become my closest friends and trusted advisors. They understand intimately the ups and downs of creating a passion driven business. They hold me accountable and are able to both inspire me and offer important business and personal development strategies that really support my success. They have become a part of my family, celebrate holidays and birthdays, and make it a point to connect with me as much personally as professionally.

If you are ready to create fulfilling relationships to support your message, impact, and financial goals you’ll want to begin with the following inquiry.

1. What am I creating this year in my business to make a bigger impact?

Begin to list the different projects, events, programs etc. that you desire support on.

2. What are my goals for partnership?

This could be seeking contributors with expertise outside of your genius zone to add value to the project or simply promotional goals.

3. What are my core values?

Seek partners who share similar qualities and energies to create harmonious passionate and long term relationships. You can find core value exercises online, or feel free to email me at erika@lovedseenheard.com and I’ll send you the exercise I use in the Affiliate Partnerships 2.0 program.

4. What business practices (or established levels of excellence) need to be met in order to support the work?

Determine what technologies, business practices, details need to be in place in order to create, market, and sustain your goals and developments. Seek partners that have a solid business foundation to match or elevate your success.

5. Don’t be afraid to create boundaries or say NO.

As you enter the world of partnership you will become approached by many invitations. Make sure to stay connected to your vision and goals for your business and only accept offers that will allow you to accomplish these goals, feel expansive in growth, and are in alignment with your principles.

This is just the beginning to building a 6 figure partnership platform and elevating your business, impact, and lifestyle. Gone are the days of isolation and doing everything all alone for little return. Do you need a coach?

Posted by: | Comments (2)

An increasing number of people are hiring life and solopreneur business coaches. Coaches help you set goals and achieve them. Like a sports coach, life and business coaches help you develop your strengths and work around your weaknesses.

Many types of people can benefit from a coach, but people that work from home can may reap more benefits than someone in a corporate atmosphere. This is due to the fact that people that work from home are generally isolated. If you miss having someone to bounce ideas off and have someone to brainstorm with, a coach may be for you.

Coaches will hold you accountable for your actions. For instance, if you are in direct sales and your goal is to sell $400 worth of product each week, your coach will help you set mini goals to accomplish that. When you meet with your coach and they ask you what you have done, you need to be honest.

Coaches can also help you with time management, leadership, and customer service skills. If you tend to procrastinate or have a fear of success or failure, a coach can help you work through it. Some other issues that a coach can help you with include: creating a balance between work and family, creating an organizational system, and improving your communication skills.

Good coaches will also give you honest feedback. They will let you know if you are lacking in certain areas and give you tips on how to improve. It can be hard to hear criticism, but if it makes you a better business person in the long run, it is worth it.

Many coaches will offer a complimentary session; this will help you determine if your personalities match. Different coaches have different styles, so you may want to talk to a few coaches to determine which one you feel most comfortable with. You may also want to ask them about their accreditation. If you are having specific issues with your business, ask if they have experience in those areas.

A coach may choose to work with their clients via email, through one-on-one telephone calls or group calls. If you feel intimidated to speak up in a group session, let your coach know. However, you may enjoy group sessions as you will get to see that other people are going through the same type of problems. The rates a coach may charge can vary quite a bit so it’s quite difficult to give an exact price per session or month.

It is important to remember that a coach is not a therapist. A coach cannot fix your problems They can guide you along the way to success, but you will need to do the actual work.
